About the project
A second story deck that wraps the back of the house and ties into a cantilevered balcony off the end bedroom. The old structure came off and we reframed the whole run in redwood, posted down to new footings with steel connectors at every beam and post. The railings are redwood frames with black metal balusters, stained to match the deck so the line stays clean across the elevation. Everything is sloped and flashed to shed water away from the siding, and the covered area underneath now works as usable outdoor space off the lower level.
