About the project
A two story redwood deck built into a steep hillside lot with open views across the city and the bay. Both levels are framed and posted for the slope, decked in clear redwood, and finished with a warm penetrating stain that brings out the grain. The railings are custom built redwood frames with black welded wire panels, so the structure stays solid while the view stays wide open. The upper level tucks under the existing roof overhang for a covered outdoor room, and the lower level opens to full sun.
